Doctors with compassions and practice medicine to help others inspired many students to set their future goals to wear that white robe to help more patients suffering from diseases. However, the enormous academic pressure after school starts, the busy life during internship, and the tension between doctors and patients often make students forget to show their care and warmth to the patients. In consideration of it, Unison Healthcare Group has been focusing on the life education of medical and nursing talents since 2018 by conducting UHG Film Festival on campuses throughout Taiwan, allowing medical students to know more about the stories behind deaths; the two-year film tour has finally come back to Fu Jen Catholic University before Thanksgiving, in addition to deliver topics associated with life and death, we expect that the stories behind the silent teachers may enable them to understand more about the values of respect and cherishing lives, to achieve the ideal of not to forget the very beginning mind of caring for others. Silent Teachers personally guide the importance of life education In order to get into medical fields, many students take “studying hard” as the goal of their lives since they started to prepare for medical school exams; but the stress from completing courses, internship, national exams and getting a job ever since they get into a medical school, leave them no time to pay attentions on issues besides schoolwork and diseases; however, an important subject that all medical students must consider is to face lives, deaths and the emotions of the patients. Unison Healthcare Group has been dedicated to Taiwan medical care for 65 years, and give great attention to life education topics. Husband of the silent teacher Mr. Lin Hui-Tsung also attended the event and shared his understanding of life education with the students. Mr. Lin Hui-Tsung said that he was very open-minded when facing death; he believes that nothing matters anymore when one dies. Instead of a farewell to the body, it makes more meaning to contribute the body to the society. After his wife has become a silent teacher, his family gradually not avoiding to discuss about death. Thanks to this film for us to know the meaning of body donation; hopefully by the promotion of the documentary film may change the traditional thinking of burying the body and rest in peace, and to face up the topic of body donation, allowing medical students to have greater opportunities to learn more, which benefits more while contributing to the society.
